- 7:00 AMWakes up for the day
- 9:00–9:45 AMFirst nap window: 2 hr to 2 hr 45 min after waking
- 9:25 AMFalls asleep
- 10:25 AMWakes after a 1 hr nap. The clock starts again
- 12:25–1:10 PMNext nap window
For your baby’s age, see the example day on its page, starting from wake windows by age.
Common questions
Can I plan every nap for the day in advance?
Only roughly. Each nap window depends on when your baby wakes from the nap before it, and nap lengths vary. Plan the next nap, then recalculate when your baby wakes.
How many naps should my baby take?
It changes with age and from baby to baby. This calculator doesn't set a number of naps; it tells you when the next one is likely to go well. Your pediatrician can help if you're unsure what's typical for your baby.
