6-Month-Old Wake Windows

Most 6-month-olds stay awake about 2 hr – 2 hr 45 min between sleeps. It’s the range the Wake Window app uses for babies aged 5–6 months.

Your next nap window will appear in a moment.

At 6 months

Six-month-olds are in the same 2 hr – 2 hr 45 min range as 5-month-olds, usually toward the longer end of it.

Days often start to feel more predictable around now. If naps are landing at similar times each day, the calculator can confirm whether they sit inside the typical window.

Common questions

Should a 6-month-old follow a schedule or wake windows?

Either can work. Wake windows adapt to however the day actually went, which helps when naps vary in length. Some families move toward set times as naps become more consistent.

What's the next change?

From 7 months, the suggested range is 2 hr 30 min – 3 hr 30 min.
